The town is immersed in history, with its most notable landmark being Dalton Castle, currently owned by the National Trust. The 14th century abbey, used for many years as a courthouse, adds to the rich stories and tales that stem from this quaint town.
Dalton also boasts a famous resident; George Romney was born here during the 1700s, residing in the town for some of the earlier years of his life.
Modern day Dalton-in-Furness offers a range of speciality shops and some more recognisable high street stores, alongside fabulous market halls, with a range of over 80 stalls to choose from.
